Fuck me, i have to deal with some cunts. i might have mentioned it before, but recruitment agents are scum, but they are scum i have to deal with to get contracts. why firms use them is beyond me. hopefully tools like linkedin make recruitment agencies extinct. cant happen soon enough.
am currently dealing with someone at an agency is who is so thick and yet so patronising. despite this being my 14th contract, she gave me a 30 minute interview prep and asked me if was planning on wearing a suit and shoes to the interview. i replied that was a good idea and i might not wear my jeans and a t-shirt this time.
she then gave me some set questions to ask in the interview which were terrible. i said i would not ask those questions in the interview. she seemed offended and asked why?. because its unprofessional and makes you look like a dumb ass to ask the person interviewing you, to give you feedback on how the interview went, at the end of an interview. that's why?.
anyway, i got the job today despite not using her dumb interview tips. today she calls me to say i should BCC her in emails that i send to other agencies cancelling other job opportunities and interviews i had lined up. what the fuck!!!?. after 10 minutes of angrily protesting how unethical it was to blindly copy her into emails with competitors revealing confidential commercial information, she said she would get her director to speak to me as it was vital she was bcc'd for the offer to be accepted. yeah!, put another idiot on the phone, i want to hear what this prick has to say.
some slimy shit then comes on the phone and tries to justify it. i then explain once again how unprofessional and unethical it is to share commercially sensitive information from rival agencies without their knowledge. he then asks me to just forward the emails, redacting the names of clients and the agents and the agencies. OK. what is the fucking point of that you halfwit.
i then sent back a redacted email which i might as well have written to myself which deleted the name and email address of the agent i sent it to, his firm and the client i had been put forward for was also deleted. the mail contained no information aside from saying "i no longer wanted to pursue the role". i might as well have sent the director this blog post as proof. dumb ass!.
anyways, it seems to be going through now. we need to take care. out integrity is really all we have. people try and buy our ethics and morals. there are lots of sharks and maggots out there trying to push people into doing shady things just for money.
