we got our snow about a week ago and because its so cold it stayed on the ground for most of the week, which meant it went from pristine fluffy white snow to grey and dirty icy sludge clogging up the streets and pavements. anyways, the forecast is for a bit more maybe tomorrow but then the weekend should be a bit warmer. its been a long winter but the days are slowly getting longer and hopefully we are making our way into the light now.
no news with regards to new contracts. had a few calls but not been called in for anything. no bother as its been good to spend time with my mum and thats worth more than a few grubby notes. besides, i have been trading stocks a bit over the last few weeks and am up quite nicely which is a bonus.
have also been training really hard at the gym and its felt great. am really pushing myself hard each time and am finding a new level. noticed a couple of things whilst at the gym. first off, what is up with the people that turn up 20 minutes before the gym closes. i will be in the changing room getting changed ready to go home and there will be people getting changed into their gym kit. i figure its just people kidding themselves so they can say they went to the gym that day, but if you are going to do 20 minutes, you need not bother.
they also have big screen tv's with various channels playing and music videos. the sound is turned down except for one of the tv's which plays the music so you end up watching a couple of minutes of the news or some soap or reality tv talent contest with no sound on them or you will end up watching the news about flooding or politics and it will be set to some euro pop dance music. it can look rather sinister and strange.
here is something similar. today i have mostly been listening to nine inch nails - discipline, but someone has very cleverly put it to the disco scene from saturday night fever. its fantastic.
