stuck between stations

the cold has returned the last few days. i may have been premature in not wearing gloves to cycle to the gym a couple of weeks ago, because there has been no chance of that since. its fucking freezing. i have had enough of cold weather.

managed to cycle to the gym yesterday in the drizzle and cold but today it was raining too hard today so i drove there. they have also had a promotion going recently which means the gym is packed with lots of newbies who just hog the equipment. it means my last 2 sessions have not been as good as what i had been doing before that. you would think that if you could do 7 or 8 sets of the bench press it would mean that you had not put enough weight on. if you can lift a weight 70 or 80 times then its clearly not heavy enough and its doing nothing for you. you may as well go home and watch tv dude. still, one or two nice looking new women there so its not all bad, though i suspect 80% of the newbies are guys.

i also chopped down what was left of the tree in the garden a few days ago. it was cold and drizzling but i just had to get out there and get rid of it as it was annoying me. it nearly fucking killed me as i have an old school saw and not an electric saw. i also had to go out with an axe in places. it took me about 3 hours and was harder than a gym session but thats a good thing. whilst i have the time, i am going to plant and organise a beautiful garden for the summer.

believe it or not, i am still dealing with accountants and lawyers. fuck me, this is dragging on. the latest twist was that the accountant lost the £900 cheque for my dads taxes that i gave him a few weeks ago. he called me up in an emergency and said he needed that money because 'the bank lost the cheque'. i also have to talk to the lawyer who is dealing with inheritence tax and the estate my dad.

its just going on and on. i have the time to deal with it, so i guess its a good thing i am not in a contract at this time. you get stuff done and get on with things you have to deal with in life, when you are not working. whenever i am in contract it just consumes all my time and my life. the last time i had a few months off, i bought my apartment. i would have never had the time to look at a place if i had been in a contract at the time.

today i have mostly been listening to the hold steady - stuck between stations. i tried to find the video but there isn't one out there and there are lots of performance clips but that are not that good. just listen to the song and lyrics and enjoy.

beg

my bank, santander, did its best to fuck me again. i made the mistake of parking my car at heathrow airport for an hour and when i was leaving i paid for it by using my bank debit card. it all went through fine and my ticket was validated and i thought nothing of it, until later that evening i tried to buy a mobile phone online.

sony are doing a promotion where if you pre-order the new xperia Z they will throw in for free a pair of high end headphones that are worth £300. i would never pay that much for headphones but seeing as i was going to get the phone anyway i thought i would pre-order it and get them as well. however, whilst ordering it i kept getting rejected when i entered my payment details. turns out that my bank had put a block on my card because of the £2:90 parking charge, which they thought was suspiscous.????

anyways, i called them up and got them to unblock my cards and hopefully my phone and headphones can come through as well. it was only available to the first 1000 people to pre-order so i hope i have not missed out.i called the phone company from whom i am ordering it and explained to them that i banked with idiots and that they should try and take the money again and it would be fine. what with the debacle of them cutting off the mortgage payments from my dads account that i was topping up, not moving my mortgage payments to my new account, cutting off all the direct debits for bills from my dads account before i could transfer them and accusing me of being an international drug traffiker when applying for my mortgage, i think its fair to say that santander are a bunch of cunts.

am still training like a beast and weather was dry this past weekend so that i could cycle both days. i was worried that once i had a car or access to a car, i would use it to drive to the gym all the time and not use my bicycle, but actually i have barely used the car at all and am still cycling even when its been bloody freezing. am feeling quite proud of myself for that.

today i have mostly been listening to bombay bicycle club - beg. they play this at my gym and its rather good.
